Kings of Leon Hop On The ‘Twilight’ Bandwagon

After the MTV Movie Awards, anyone who didn’t already know who the Kings of Leon were will get to know them when they hit the stage to perform “Use Somebody.”




“I think we’ll win them over,” Kings guitarist Caleb Followill told MTV News just moments before rehearsing for the big show. “We already got the ‘High School Musical’ kids and the ‘Twilight’ kids.

So, considering the likes of Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson are already fans of the guys, which side do they fall on: Team Twilight or Team High School Musical? “It’s tough. We have friends on both sides,” Caleb said before he went with a different team altogether. “I love ‘Slumdog.’ When I saw the movie, I thought it was great, brilliant.”

But his brother and the band’s bassist, Jared Followill, decided he’d pick a side. Although he’s known Efron for a while, it seems he’s decidedly on Team Twilight. “I really liked ‘Twilight’ a lot. It was a cool, generational kind of movie. I thought it was really pretty.”

So just how do a bunch of Southern rockers get ready for a show as big as the Movie Awards? It’s a strange combination of things, actually.

“We prepare for everything the same kind of way,” Jared said. “You got to get in your own comfort zone, which involves drinking.” Caleb added, “Or yoga.”

Or, actually drunken yoga, but that comes with a warning: “Don’t do it in front of girls,” Jared said. “Something may fall out.”

'Twilight': From Unknowns To Superstars

VENICE, California — One year ago, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and a handful of other "Twilight" stars arrived at the MTV Movie Awards and walked down the red carpet, with most of the world's press uninterested in speaking with them. In fact, they had to go back to the beginning of the carpet and start again, just so they could be properly introduced to those who didn't realize they were movie stars. Luckily, MTV had caught the "Twilight" bug early, eagerly did some exclusive interviews with the actors on the carpet and were proud to use the occasion as their coming-out party.

This Sunday night, Rob, Kristen, Kellan, Ashley, Cam, Taylor and others will return to Universal's Gibson Amphitheatre triumphantly, leading the evening's attendees with seven nominations. And when director Catherine Hardwicke recently showed us around her Venice home where it all began, she marveled at the difference 12 months can make.

Before they were Twilight stars: a throwback look at the cast (videos) - The Examiner

With The Twilight Saga: New Moon stars on the deservedly consistent rise in our current popular culture, it is a wonder they have time to do anything else. Nevertheless, they do.

With Kristen Stewart's up-coming role in K-11 (with co-star Nikki Reed) and The Runaways, her work on The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (and, hopefully, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) stands as no obstacle to her continued work outside of the Twilight bubble.

Same goes for, obviously, Robert Pattinson, whose career, as it stands today, continues to unfold with promise and aspiration (with such films as Bel Ami, Remember Me, Unbound Captives and others in the works for this young man's career). On to such actors as Peter Facinelli, whose post-Twilight resume of film affiliation is continuously growing with such projects as Nurse Jackie, The Absinthe Drinkers, and Thicker. With Kellan Lutz, talks of his involvement in A Nightmare On Elm Street (a re-make of the 1984 Wes Craven classic chiller) have been on the table for a while. Just this weekend, we learned that Jackson Rathbone would be gracing the screen (with his musical gifts - see, for instance, his band 100 Monkeys - in tow) in a new film, while his work with M. Night Shyamalan in The Last Airbender rapidly approaches. The list could go on.

Behind the scenes with Robert Pattinson - The Examiner

In a previous post it was announced that Robert Pattinson will be filming a new movie called, "Remember Me," in NYC. However, numerous fans of Pattinson don't know about a pre-twilight movie called, "How to Be."

This movie is a wonderful independent film that is currently available on some cable box's On-Demand services. This movie is worth the $6.99 it will cost to rent it. The movie deals with a character named Art (Pattinson) who is lost with his life. He hates his job, he is treated poorly by his friends, and his family doesn't care about him. Everyone is always telling him there is something wrong with him. So Art decides to go through a journey of self-discovery.

"How To Be" is so genuine and so thoughtfully done. The music is catchy and of course fans of Pattinson will love to hear he sings two songs on the movie's soundtrack. Now, the obsessed fans have probably already seen this movie and if they are still reading are bored and fully aware of all of this information. However, did you know there was some footage shot while Pattinson was filming this movie?

This footage has surfaced (I assume it will be on the DVD as a Special Feature). I have brought the footage to the masses and have embedded this video below (thank you Youtube). I hope you enjoy the cute Pattinson before he had to worry about stalkers, the paps, and the constant screams from girls.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Remember Me star Robert Pattinson agreed to auction off a kiss on the cheek (or two) for $20,000 apiece (or, should I say, that was the going rate according to auction) at the amfAR (an organization devoted to raising funds for AIDs research).

In this video, below, you will see that Pattinson was a little nervous (clutching his hair as the announcer offered to auction away more and more of these kisses for the small, reasonable (pun intended) fee).

His expressions speak volumes, don't they? Meanwhile, his actions speak louder. A good sport, as they say, Pattinson went along with the bidding, and two lucky little girls will receive a photograph with this star as well as a kiss on the cheek.

'Bel Ami' News!! Robert Pattinson to star in 'Bel Ami'

Robert Pattinson is going from Bella to Bel Ami.
As if the news that Breaking Dawn, the fourth installment of the Twilight series, was officially a go didn't put Pattinson fans into enough of a twitter, the burgeoning star has just guaranteed yet another opportunity to see his swoon-worthy visage on the big screen.

According to Variety, Pattinson is set to star in Bel Ami, an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's novel about a morally corrupt, power-hungry playboy journalist. Pattinson will play the rogue writer; Bel Ami is his nickname.
"It's a totally amoral character," Pattz told Variety.
Declan Donnellan directs the film, which will shoot in Paris early next year.

CANNES -- Robert Pattinson, who shot to stardom in "Twilight" and is now filming the second and third movies in the franchise, confirmed Tuesday in Cannes that there will be a fourth installment of the vampire franchise based on the book "Breaking Dawn."

Pattinson told The Hollywood Reporter that he is committed to starring in the final outing to date but doesn't know when backers Summit Entertainment will begin production because of the actor's jam-packed shooting schedule.

Fans have been hoping for a movie version of the fourth novel from Stephenie Meyer's best-sellers, so Pattinson's commitment is the biggest fillip yet. The fourth book (caution -- spoiler alert) centers on Bella and Edward's marriage and her subsequent pregnancy.

Dropping in on the Croisette on the way to shooting the final four days of "New Moon" in Italy on Friday, Pattinson said he is heading back to Vancouver in October to finish up "Twilight: Eclipse," the third installment. In between, the British actor, who turned 23 last week, plans to star in "Remember Me," which Summit also is producing.

Said Pattinson, laughing: "You're playing a figment in Bella's imagination so I was trying to do it in a 2-D way. I hope it doesn't translate onscreen as being boring." The hardworking actor is taking a few days off after completing "New Moon" before the start of the "Remember Me" shoot. He plans three days off after an eight-week planned shoot for "Remember Me" before finishing "Eclipse" before October.

Pattinson said "Remember Me" is very difficult to describe but said it is very much about him and, after reading the script last summer, felt a connection with it. The main protagonist is a 23-year-old man who spends six weeks after meeting someone working out if he is in love or not.

'Twilight Saga: New Moon' one-sheet debuts: Hello, Jacob! And Edward's chest hair!

The teaser one-sheet for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, in theaters Nov. 20, has been released confirming what we long suspected -- both Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) are hotter with shorter hair.

At first glance, I thought this poster belonged to Lautner: The clenched fist and jaw, the bicep, the eye. (And again, the hair.) But then I looked closer at Pattinson, smiled that I actually get paid for this, and noted the purposeful peek of manly chest hair.

Suddenly, I remembered that New Moon is a battle between a boy and a man -- not just a wolf and a vampire -- for Bella's affections. (You'll need to find an enlarged image to fully appreciate what I'm extracting from the photo. Of chest hair. Wait, this is what I get paid for?)

My other thoughts: That expressive look on Kristen Stewart's face allows me to hope that the acting in the sequel will be much improved. The coloring of the background reminds me of fan-made New Moon posters. (Coincidence?) I'm liking that this film already feels darker and more atmospheric than the first.
