Twilight: Messy, Messy, Messy!
VIDEO SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN REMOVED?!! will check in later
As one of my sources said to me yesterday, things could get "messy" between Rachelle Lefevre and Twilight gatekeeper Summit Entertainment.
And they certainly have.
The "she said, they said" statements are flying from both sides.
So what now?
Any chance director David Slade will ask Rachelle to come back? And then there's New Moon—how on earth will Rachelle do any press on that flick now?
I think it's safe to assume that we have not heard the last of the real-life behind-the-scenes Twilight drama.

Summit Entertainment Response to Rachelle Lefevre Comments
We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre’s recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the Studio.
Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the Studio to set the record straight and correct the facts.
* Ms. Lefevre's representatives were advised as early as April that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE was expected to start shooting in early August.
*If Ms. Lefevre was, as she describes “passionate,” about being part of THE TWILIGHT SAGA, we feel that she and her representatives would have included us in her decision to work on another film that would conflict with the shooting schedule of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.
*It was not until July 20th that Summit was first informed of Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to BARNEY’S VERSION, a commitment we have since been advised she accepted in early June. Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.
We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.
*Furthermore Ms. Lefevre took a role in the other film that places her in Europe during the required rehearsal time, and at least ten days of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE’s principal photography. This period is essential for both rehearsal time with the cast, and for filming at key locations that are only available during the initial part of production.
*Contrary to Ms. Lefevre’s statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story.
The fact remains that Ms. Lefevre’s commitment to the other project - which she chose to withhold from Summit until the last possible moment - makes her unfortunately unavailable to perform the role of Victoria in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE.

Rachelle Lefevre ‘Stunned’ Over ‘Eclipse’ Recasting

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Summit Entertainment announced the replacement of “Twilight Saga” star Rachelle Lefevre in the series’ third film, “Eclipse,” on Tuesday night – and fans weren’t the only ones surprised by the news — Rachelle was shocked as well!“
Summit Entertainment announced the replacement of “Twilight Saga” star Rachelle Lefevre in the series’ third film, “Eclipse,” on Tuesday night – and fans weren’t the only ones surprised by the news — Rachelle was shocked as well!“
I was stunned by Summit’s decision to recast the role of Victoria for ‘Eclipse,’” Rachelle said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
On Tuesday, Summit announced that Bryce Dallas Howard would be taking on the role in “Eclipse,” due in May 2010.
“I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria,” Rachelle continued, explaining the turn of events that led to the casting change. “I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten days. Summit picked up my option for ‘Eclipse.’ Although the production schedule for ‘Eclipse’ is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those ten days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse,’ never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap. I was happy with my contract with Summit and was fully prepared to continue to honor it. Summit chose simply to recast the part.”
The star concluded her statement with a regretful tone.
“I am greatly saddened that I will not get to complete my portrayal of Victoria for the ‘Twilight’ audience. This is a story, a theatrical journey and a character that I truly love and about which I am very passionate. I will be forever grateful to the fan support and loyalty I’ve received since being cast for this role, and I am hurt deeply by Summit’s surprising decision to move on without me. I wish the cast and crew of ‘Eclipse’ only the very best,” she said.
Rachelle will appear in the series’ next film, “New Moon,” due Nov. 20.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Lobbies For 'Twilight' Role
....Maybe she could be Tanya from Danali??? no???
:D Jennifer Love Hewitt is a sweetheart!!!
'I will be the vampire who carries Robert Pattinson's luggage in the airport,' actress says at Comic-Con.
By Jocelyn Vena, additional reporting by Josh Horowitz

Jennifer Love Hewitt may be dating Jamie Kennedy, but that doesn't mean that the "Ghost Whisperer" star isn't pining for the man who plays Edward Cullen. You see, Twilighter Hewitt is all about Team Edward.
"Who's not Team Edward?" she asked MTV News at Comic-Con, where she and her "Ghost Whisperer" co-stars talked about the fifth season of their supernatural CBS series. "There is not a girl in the world who's not Team Edward! Have you met girls who are not Team Edward? Well, they are not girls! They're aliens from another planet who should not be allowed to exist."
Unfortunately for Hewitt, she didn't get a chance to meet Robert Pattinson at Comic-Con, but at the same time, she isn't sure she'd have the capabilities to handle an encounter with him in the flesh. "I'd pass out. I can't talk about it, 'cause I'd pass out," she said. "It's because he's Edward. Listen, Edward can fly you through the forest. He's like Aladdin with vampire teeth — there's magic-carpet rides. He can sing. He can watch you sleep. He plays music. He sniffs your neck. I mean, please!"
Although Hewitt missed out on the "Twilight" panel at Comic-Con, she was holding out hope she'd get the chance to meet another much-loved vampire cast. "I'm bummed because I missed 'Twilight.' I wanted to see them so badly, but they were here before I got here, so I was bummed that I missed them. But I'm hoping that some of the 'True Blood' people are still here so that I can see them, 'cause obviously I have a vampire thing."
With her former "Can't Hardly Wait" co-star Peter Facinelli in the cast, is there any chance that Hewitt may find herself in one of the next "Twilight" films? She hopes so. "I want a part so bad. Any part's fine. I will be the vampire who carries Robert Pattinson's luggage in the airport, that is the part that I will play if they need it," she said. "Jamie wants to play a werewolf, so we're both putting it out there."

Thank you for the link @RobPattzNews!!

With Hollywood biggies backing his 100th production, Ashok Amritraj is among the very few Hollywood producers to have achieved this milestone.

-During the recent 62nd Cannes Film Festival, Amritraj was particularly excited, almost like a first-time mother-to-be. And why not, his 100th film as a producer is soon going to the floors, an epic screen venture to be directed by actress Madeleine Stowe and to star the likes of Hugh Jackman.
- Amritraj right now is excited about his 100th production, Unbound Captives, which will be shot towards 2009-end and ready for release by early 2011. “It will be a big epic in the scale of Laurence of Arabia, and Stowe’s first effort at direction. John Toll of Braveheart and Last Samurai will be the cinematographer. It’s probably the biggest in scope and scale among all my films, and will have a budget of 80-90 million dollars,” he says.
- The film will be shot “between” New Mexico and New Zealand as the subject demands shoots in different seasons.

'New Moon' Stars Still Find Comic-Con 'Terrifying' - MTV News
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner discuss life in the 'Twilight' spotlight.
SAN DIEGO — Appropriately enough for a movie series about a vampire clan that never sleeps, "Twilight" day at Comic-Con began bright and early.
Gathered together at 9:30 a.m. Thursday (July 23) for an invite-only press conference, a small group of reporters took up about a third of the massive ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront hotel, eager to talk fame, fiction and fanpires with Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
"This year, I have something to say," Pattinson laughed, remembering that he was overwhelmed to the point of near speechlessness last year. "It's much more terrifying."
"This is a severely emotional movie. ... There are high points for Bella, but she's a manic-depressive basically," Stewart said of her "New Moon" performance. "There was more to think about. It's a more mature part."
Speaking with other reporters before the event, none of us Comic-Con veterans could recall a movie having an event like this before. Summit Entertainment claimed an entire ballroom for media only, no Twilighters allowed. Not "Lord of the Rings," not "Iron Man" or anything else had ever needed its own press event — a testament to the enormous growth of both "Twilight" and Comic-Con in general.
"It's crazy," Lautner said when the trio were asked about how they've been dealing with the fame. "None of us saw it coming, and this past year has been a ride for us."
Kristen Stewart, who currently has short black locks to play Joan Jett in "The Runaways," laughed, "I cut my hair off."
"It's still so young to me, I can't claim anything as a low," Pattinson said when asked about his avalanche of fame. "I live a nearly identical life, except for being recognized. It's not the worst thing in the world. I never did anything 'normal' before — and now, I get other people to do that for me."
Pattinson confirmed that Thursday afternoon's massive fan event in Hall H will screen a clip featuring him. The line outside the convention center is arguably the longest in Comic-Con history.

Speaking specifically about Stephenie Meyer's franchise, Stewart said, "You're so much inside [Bella's] head, it feels like home."
"When I play it, I try to eliminate the vampire element as much as I can," Pattinson said of playing Edward Cullen. "I only see it as a tool to make things more fraught."
"I did a lot of the apparition scenes, which were me doing one line a week," Pattinson remembered of the ghost-like appearances he filmed at the beginning of the "New Moon" shoot. "I had a stress-free three months. All the pressure was on Taylor."
Asked for the one "Twilight" question they hope to never answer again, Lautner knew his answer immediately. "To growl. I'm asked that by a lot by fans, and I don't like doing that," he said. "So, fans, please don't ask me that. Wait for the movie."
Pattinson's least favorite question? "What's it like kissing Taylor Lautner?" he grinned.
